{"id":18798,"date":"2020-08-31T22:08:37","date_gmt":"2020-08-31T22:08:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=18798"},"modified":"2020-08-31T22:08:37","modified_gmt":"2020-08-31T22:08:37","slug":"rbi-to-conduct-additional-omo-purchase-sale-of-govt-securities-worth-rs-20000-crore-business-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=18798","title":{"rendered":"RBI to conduct additional OMO purchase, sale of govt securities worth Rs 20,000 crore &#8211; business news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Reserve Bank of India announced the additional special open market operation on Monday of government securities worth 20,000 crores in two tranches of \u20b910,000 crores each.<\/p>\n<p>In measure to foster orderly market conditions, RBI will conduct \u201cadditional special <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/business-news\/rbi-announces-omo-purchase-of-govt-securities-worth-rs-20-000-crore\/story-6D9SE8ojtfgE03QN5aBD9L.html\" title=\"open market operation \">open market operation <\/a>involving simultaneous purchase and sale of government securities for an aggregate amount of \u20b920,000 crores in two tranches of \u20b910,000 crores each,\u201d the central bank said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The auctions would be conducted on September 10 and September 17.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/topic\/rbi\" title=\"RBI\">RBI<\/a> will also conduct term repo operations for an aggregate amount of \u20b9100,000 crores at floating rates (i.e., at the prevailing repo rate)  in the middle of September to assuage pressures on the market on account of advance tax outflows.<\/p>\n<p>With the heightening of Covid-19 pandemic risks, certain financial market segments have been experiencing a tightening of financial conditions as reflected in the hardening of yields and widening of spreads.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/topic\/coronavirus\" title=\"Click here for full Covid-19 coverage\">Click here for full Covid-19 coverage<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The RBI has been constantly reviewing current and evolving liquidity and market conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe RBI remains committed to use all instruments at its command to revive the economy by maintaining congenial financial conditions, mitigate the impact of Covid-19 and restore the economy to a path of sustainable growth while preserving macroeconomic and financial stability,\u201d the bank also said.<\/p>\n<p><!--   section:business-news mainSection:business-news-->\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/business-news\/rbi-to-conduct-additional-omo-purchase-sale-of-govt-securities-worth-rs-20-000-crore\/story-WS5Ikvc7y1K8OYfYE2mEZI.html\\\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Reserve Bank of India announced the additional special open market operation on Monday of government securities worth 20,000 crores in two tranches of \u20b910,000 crores each.
