Abhay Deol has never been the one to mince his words and has addressed some of the biggest social issues unapologetically. Be it the current political scenario in the country or the issue of fairness creams, he has always put his opinion forth and lauded those that he deems correct. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama<\/b>, Abhay Deol spoke about how blind items tend to have a deeper effect on those that don\u2019t hail from the industry and has slammed their writers.<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking about the blind items\u2019 trend in the industry, Abhay Deol said, \u201cRajeev Masand has gone for all of us. While Rajeev Masand talks about producers selling out and making formula films, he goes around writing blind items. I mean, there\u2019s no journalistic integrity in that so I find the hypocrisy a little jarring. Until we don\u2019t call out these people, they\u2019re going to continue writing what they did. The difference between the actors and them is that we\u2019ll call you out by your name and they will just hide behind the garb of \u2018rumour has it\u2019 and then just give you blatant hints to who it is. I\u2019m glad that he is being called out, there\u2019s no credibility there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking further, he said, \u201cWhy try and legitimize rumours? It\u2019s worse when someone like Rajeev Masand does it because he has some credibility in the market. People respect him. When he gives hints that are pretty obvious as to who he is talking about, it will affect somebody\u2019s mind. I\u2019m fine with it, it doesn\u2019t make a difference to me; I have not come up with anybody\u2019s help. But someone who has come from the outside, if someone has a mental health issue or is more sensitive, it\u2019s harder for them. I\u2019ve grown up around fame so I know what\u2019s news today will be old news tomorrow. But, I don\u2019t expect everybody to have that knowledge or their approach. Because you can handle someone like KRK saying it since no one takes him seriously, but people do take Rajeev seriously. When he writes things like these, it could have an impact on somebody\u2019s mind and also on their career.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s shocking that people in power would do that, because how insecure do you have to be? You have already reached the epitome of success, why are you trying to legitimize rumours?
