The bank has been making the public aware through its flagship \u2018RBI Kehta Hai<\/a>\u2019 campaign in the backdrop of reports of \u201cusers falling prey to fraudsters\u201d increasing in the recent days. The scammers deceive by impersonating identities of websites of banks and payment systems claiming to complete KYC<\/a> requirements, etc.<\/p>\n It also listed out points, like not sharing card details with anyone, avoiding financial transactions while using public\/open Wi-Fi, among others to ensure safe digital transactions.<\/p>\n In the same context it had advised the chairman\/MD\/CEOs of all authorized payment system operators and participants to undertake multi-lingual campaigns via different modes of communication to make their users aware of the safe and secure use of digital payments.<\/p>\n The Reserve Bank has been taking measures in this respect through its e-BAAT programme and campaigns educating them in respect of sharing personal information like OTP, passwords which are used to carry out the fraud. However it has noticed a continual of incidences where the public is falling for the fraud even after warnings against them and therefore finds it \u201cessential that all payment systems operators and participants \u2013 banks and non-banks \u2013 continue and reinforce efforts to spread awareness about digital safety\u201d. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
