{"id":23607,"date":"2020-09-21T14:09:59","date_gmt":"2020-09-21T14:09:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=23607"},"modified":"2020-09-21T14:09:59","modified_gmt":"2020-09-21T14:09:59","slug":"gdg-virtual-meeting-on-the-update-of-the-consolidated-guidelines-for-use-of-antiretrovirals-for-preventing-and-treating-hiv-infection-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=23607","title":{"rendered":"GDG Virtual Meeting on the update of the Consolidated Guidelines for use of antiretrovirals for preventing and treating HIV infection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<div>\n<p>WHO has made available the membership of the Guidelines Development Group (GDG) for the update of the WHO &#8220;Consolidated Guidelines for use of antiretrovirals for preventing and treating HIV infection.&#8221; These guidelines will be updated with relevant WHO<br \/>\n    guidance released since 2016 and also include new recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>The virtual meeting of the service delivery GDG will be held from 5 \u2013 9 October 2020. The objective of this Guidelines meeting is to formulate recommendations on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Starting ART safely outside of the Health Facility;<\/li>\n<li>Co-interventions that improve acceptability of starting antiretroviral therapy on the same day;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>HIV\/TB diagnosis and linkage to treatment;<\/li>\n<li>Frequency of clinic visits and frequency of ART dispensing;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Reengagement in care;<\/li>\n<li>Measuring adherence to treatment;<\/li>\n<li>Integration of care for: HIV and noncommunicable disease; HIV and family planning services;<\/li>\n<li>Psychosocial support interventions for adolescents and young people living with HIV;<\/li>\n<li>Specimen collection and performance of diagnostic tests by lay providers; and\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Diagnostic integration across HIV, TB, hepatitis, and STIs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In line with WHO policy on conflict of interest, members of the<br \/>\npublic and interested organizations can access the biographies of the<br \/>\nGDG members and inform WHO of their views about them.
