{"id":25477,"date":"2020-10-06T13:21:51","date_gmt":"2020-10-06T13:21:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=25477"},"modified":"2020-10-06T13:21:51","modified_gmt":"2020-10-06T13:21:51","slug":"coronavirus-linked-syndrome-seen-in-children-also-occurs-in-adults","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=25477","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus-Linked Syndrome Seen in Children Also Occurs in Adults"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>MONDAY, Oct. 5, 2020 (HealthDay News) &#8212; Adults can develop a coronavirus-linked syndrome that&#8217;s similar to one seen in children, researchers report.<\/p>\n<p>Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in adults (MIS-A) has killed at least three patients and disproportionately affects racial and ethnic minorities, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/prevention\/article.htm\" onclick=\"wmdTrack('embd-lnk');\" rel=\"dt\">Prevention<\/a> team, <i>CNN<\/i> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Like multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), MIS-A isn&#8217;t obviously linked to the new coronavirus and patients may not show any other symptoms suggesting coronavirus infection, the researchers said.<\/p>\n<p>MIS-C &#8212; which has affected several hundred children worldwide &#8212; causes general inflammation. With proper treatment, children recover, <i>CNN<\/i> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The CDC researchers&#8217; case study describes 27 adults, aged 21 to 50, with MIS-A.<\/p>\n<p class=\"credits\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"MedicalNews\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/images.medicinenet.com\/images\/HealthDay\/healthday.png\" style=\"border: none;\"\/><br \/>Copyright \u00a9 2019 HealthDay.
