A text regarding the pandemic and its effects will be a part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/syllabus\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" data-ga=\"within_article-topic_link|topic_syllabus\" frmappuse=\"1\">syllabus<\/a> for each class beginning from Class I to Class X. The initiative has been taken to make kids aware about the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/global-threat\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" data-ga=\"within_article-topic_link|topic_global-threat\" frmappuse=\"1\">global threat<\/a> and help them take adequate precautions. <br \/>\u201cIt is a pandemic and the whole world is under threat, thus a student must know the story of this disease and understand the crisis which is being faced by the world,\u201d said chairman of <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/the-syllabus-reform-committee\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" data-ga=\"within_article-topic_link|topic_the-syllabus-reform-committee\" frmappuse=\"1\">the syllabus reform committee<\/a>, Avik Mazumdar. <br \/>Sources said education minister Partha Chatterjee advised the committee to introduce a chapter on the topic since the disease has struck the masses, including children. \u201cThe state government wants students to be prepared and know how they will have to lead a life in the time of coronavirus,\u201d said a source. <br \/>Initial discussions have taken place in the school education department on what should be the content of the curriculum. <br \/>\u201cThe syllabus committee will consult physicians and virologists, along with the teachers, who will assist to frame the chapters,\u201d added the <\/div>\n<p><a href=\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/city\/kolkata\/west-bengal-covid-in-school-syllabus-from-2021-22\/articleshow\/76705682.cms\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KOLKATA: The schools in West Bengal affiliated with the state board will include topics on the novel coronavirus or Covid-19 from the 2021-22 academic session.
