{"id":3628,"date":"2020-07-01T22:37:18","date_gmt":"2020-07-01T22:37:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=3628"},"modified":"2020-07-01T22:37:18","modified_gmt":"2020-07-01T22:37:18","slug":"union-bank-of-india-cmd-rajkiran-rai-gets-2-year-extension-bfsi-news-et-bfsi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=3628","title":{"rendered":"Union Bank of India CMD Rajkiran Rai gets 2-year extension, BFSI News, ET BFSI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>The Ministry of Finance, on June 30, granted <a href=\"https:\/\/bfsi.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/union+bank+of+india\">Union Bank of India<\/a>\u2019s managing director and CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/bfsi.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/rajkiran+rai\">Rajkiran Rai<\/a> an extension of two-year given in its ongoing <a href=\"https:\/\/bfsi.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/merger\">merger<\/a> process with <a href=\"https:\/\/bfsi.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/andhra+bank\">Andhra Bank<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/bfsi.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/corporation+bank\">Corporation Bank<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Rai, whose term would have ended yesterday, will now be serving till May 31, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>By extending the term period, he will hold the position of bank\u2019s MD &amp;CEO till the date of his superannuation, i.e., May 31, 2022 or until further order from the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n<p>Rai was appointed as the managing director of <a href=\"https:\/\/bfsi.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/union+bank\">Union Bank<\/a> on July1, 2017 for a period of 3 years until June 30, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>On April 1, Union Bank was merged with Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank, but the integration is yet to take place completely. The extension of Rai\u2019s tenure implies to facilitate the merger properly.
