While, the broader NSE Nifty finished 122 points or 1.17 per cent higher at 10,552. <br \/>Top gainers in the sensex included M&amp;M, Titan, HCL Tech, HDFC, Infosys and TCS with their shares rising as much as 6.21 per cent. <br \/>While Axis Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Kotak Bank, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance and ICICI Bank were the major losers, falling up to 1.92 per cent. <br \/>On NSE, sub-indices Nifty Auto and IT gained as much as 2.81 per cent. <br \/>According to traders, domestic indices followed gains in global benchmarks amid positive factory output data across economies. <br \/>&#8220;The BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance) sector, which has underperformed the market, will be in focus going forward, with the RBI&#8217;s liquidity support to shadow banks also improving confidence,&#8221; Rusmik Oza, head of fundamental research at Kotak Securities in Mumbai told news agency Reuters. <br \/>On the macroeconomic front, GST revenue collections in June swelled to Rs 90,917 crore, from Rs 62,009 crore in May and Rs 32,294 crore in April, official data showed. <br \/>The country&#8217;s manufacturing sector activity also moved towards stabilisation in June, according to PMI data. <br \/>Further, hopes for a vaccine strengthened after Germany&#8217;s BioNTech and US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer reported positive preliminary results from a joint project. <br \/>Meanwhile, the rupee appreciated 56 paise to settle at 75.04 (provisional) against the US dollar tracking weakness in the greenback and gains in the domestic equity market. <br \/><span class=\"em \">(With agency inputs)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\\\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/business\/india-business\/sensex-jumps-429-points-to-finish-at-35844-nifty-ends-above-10550\/articleshow\/76748904.cms\\\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Representative image) NEW DELHI: Equity indices finished higher for second straight day on Thursday with the benchmark BSE sensex rising over 400 points, led by gains in auto and IT stocks.
