Difficult days lie ahead, but hopeful ones do as well. We will need to work together<br \/>\n        to rebuild families, communities and entire health and economic systems in a shared vision of our own humanity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/dg\/speeches\/detail\/who-director-general-s-closing-remarks-at-the-world-health-assembly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus\u2019 closing remarks at WHA73<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/images\/default-source\/elimination-of-cervical-cancer-initiative\/update-june20.jpg?sfvrsn=9bd32832_1\" style=\"display:block;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;\" alt=\"Cervical-cancer-elimination-initiative-update-june-20\" sf-size=\"100\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As part of our responsibility to provide normative guidance to countries, a wide range of guidance documents have been published to ensure that women continue to receive the services they require.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div data-sf-ec-immutable=\"\" style=\"width:640px;height:360px;position:relative;z-index:40;\" contenteditable=\"false\">\n<div data-sf-disable-link-event=\"\">\n<p><div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Grounding Health Systems in Gender Equality to Achieve Universal Health Coverage\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5Vwe--IDdso?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the margins of WHA73, I joined civil society, youth, multilateral and government representatives to participate in a webinar hosted by the Alliance for Gender Equality called \u201cGrounding Health Systems in Gender Equality to Achieve Universal<br \/>\n        Health Coverage&#8221; (see video above). We know that the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) agenda is at the heart of promoting gender equality, and it is a fundamental part of achieving gender-responsive universal health coverage (UHC).<br \/>\n        In the face of the current COVID-19 crisis, it is more important than ever to maintain a focus on gender-responsive UHC and SRHR to build back stronger health systems than ever before.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>Thank you for your continued engagement.
