{"id":7120,"date":"2020-07-18T10:19:31","date_gmt":"2020-07-18T10:19:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=7120"},"modified":"2020-07-18T10:19:31","modified_gmt":"2020-07-18T10:19:31","slug":"cdc-will-again-post-covid-19-hospitalization-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bengalnewstimes.com\/?p=7120","title":{"rendered":"CDC Will Again Post COVID-19 Hospitalization Data"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>FRIDAY, July 17, 2020 (HealthDay News) &#8212; In a quick policy reversal, the Trump administration on Thursday told the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/prevention\/article.htm\" rel=\"dt\" onclick=\"wmdTrack('embd-lnk');\">Prevention<\/a> to once again post data about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/wuhan_coronavirus_outbreak_2019-ncov\/article.htm\" onclick=\"wmdTrack('embd-lnk');\" rel=\"slide\">COVID-19<\/a> hospitalizations on its website.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the week, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) ordered the CDC to stop posting the data because it was doing so too slowly. Instead, HHS would manage the data, <i>CNN<\/i> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Health experts slammed the HHS decision.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Given how political the response has been to date, it&#8217;s a step backwards to have these data going directly to HHS in Washington,&#8221; former CDC interim director Dr. Richard Besser told <i>CNN<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>The CDC removed some of the data from its website Wednesday evening, but HHS told the CDC on Thursday morning to re-post the data.<\/p>\n<p class=\"credits\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"MedicalNews\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/images.medicinenet.com\/images\/HealthDay\/healthday.png\" style=\"border: none;\"\/><br \/>Copyright \u00a9 2019 HealthDay.
