The fresh spell of lockdown, beginning from Saturday morning, will continue for a week till July 24. <br \/>Total 48 markets and standalone shops in the entire municipal area will remain closed during the period. <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/Wholesale-fish\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" data-ga=\"within_article-topic_link|topic_Wholesale-fish\" frmappuse=\"1\">Wholesale fish<\/a> and vegetable markets will also remain closed. Vendors on van-rickshaws are, however, allowed to ferry grocery items, vegetables and fish between 7am to 11am. Stepping out of homes will be allowed only on emergency purpose and wearing mask is mandatory. <br \/>\u201cThe <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/civic-volunteers\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" data-ga=\"within_article-topic_link|topic_civic-volunteers\" frmappuse=\"1\">civic volunteers<\/a> and cops will keep surveillance to enforce the complete lockdown. Stern action will be taken against those who would violate the lockdown norms,\u201d said Subodh Chakraborty, civic administrator of North Dum Dum municipality. <br \/>The move to implement the lockdown afresh was prompted by a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. \u201cAbout 243 people in North Dum Dum area tested positive for Covid-19 while 10 people have died.
