<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\nAmala Shankar\u2019s life and beliefs had impacted many. One among them is Bharatnatyam dance guru Thankamani Kutty. Present last year at the legend\u2019s 100 th<\/sup> birthday celebrations, Kutty has many memories of following her footsteps.
\u201cI have been hugely inspired my Amala Shankar and her husband, Uday Shankar. Their dance, philosophy and life choices made me always wonder. I was a fan of films Amala Shankar featured in like Kalpana and Kal Mrigaya. There goodwill towards everyone around was inspirational too. Looking at them I learnt that God resides in the one who spreads joy among fellow beings. I am an ordinary human being who followed these stars,\u201d Kutty said.
She is extremely sad that Amala Shankar passed away but thinks that her legacy will live on. \u201cHer body has only left the earth. The good work she did of putting India on the world map through dance will continue to make everyone feel her presence. It is said that human body can exist maximum for 125 years. It\u2019s known that humans are not immortal. But through their work they remain in people\u2019s heart,\u201d Kutty said.
Kutty is also of the opinion that the government should have done more to show respect towards Amala Shankar. \u201cHer work is exemplary. She needs special mention whenever dance is the topic. I think the government should do more to shower love and respect to the legends,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
