As if to send out a signal, massive checking of cars were carried out on both connectors and the Bypass itself on Sunday night. A third accident in the wee hours of Monday by a speeding high-end car on the Kasba Bypass connector close to Kasba police station has only strengthened cops\u2019 resolve. The car hit the divider and the driver was detained after he, along with a passenger, were injured in the accident.
Cops said when wireless message of any vehicle is passed on to the next naka, all others on the possible route of the vehicle must organize themselves to devise ways to stop it. Number of guard rails on several stretches on EM Bypass, the Rashbehari Connector, Park Street and JL Nehru Road have been increased in view of the upcoming lockdown. \u201cWe are in the process of procuring new ones with better reflector tapes,\u201d an officer said. <\/div>\n
