Bolpur: A car parked near the additional superintendent of police’s office at Rathindrapalli in Bolpur was completely damaged after an explosion on Sunday.
Driver Mangal Mardy was injured in the face and head.
Residents woke up to a loud noise in the morning and stepped out to find a damaged car. The cause of the explosion, which sparked panic in the area falling within Santiniketan police station limits, has not been ascertained yet.
Police have questioned Bolpur resident Mrinmay Rudra, who bought the car a couple of months ago. Police, however, refused comment before the investigation is completed.
