Mamata announces compensation for families of two jawans from Bengal killed in Galwan Valley | Kolkata News

KOLKATA: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee announced that the state government will provide a compensation to the family of the two jawans of the state who laid down their lives at Galwan valley. She also tweeted that the state government has decided to provide jobs to their family members. The state will give a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the two families.
The state government has decided to set up a memorial column at Mohammed Bazar where Rajesh Orang lived. Already the Birbhum district administration has been asked to get ready as the body of the martyrs will be flown back home.
CM Mamata Banerjee tweeted: “My heartfelt condolences to the families of the brave men martyred at GalwanValley. I’m at pain to say that two of them belonged to West Bengal— Sepoy Rajesh Orang of Belgoria village in Md Bazar, of Birbhum & Bipul Roy of Bindipar village of Alipurduar district.”

She said: “Nothing can compensate for the supreme sacrifice made by them for the nation or the bereaved families’ loss. We stand by the next of the sons of our soil in this difficult time. To this regard, we’ll provide Rs 5 lakh & a GoWB job to one member in the family.”
Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar also conveyed his condolence message to the bereaved families. He wrote that “our comfort is due to the ever readiness of the armed forces to sacrifice. He said that it is time to stand for the integrity of the nation.”
Orang had last visited his home during Diwali and Roy in December, family members said
