Goa Carbon Limited (GCL) has temporarily shut down its operations at St. Jose de Areal, Salcete-Goa unit for maintenance work. The announcement comes after the company’s Paradeep Unit in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha remains temporarily shut-down for maintenance work from August 15, 2020.
“We wish to inform you that the operations at the Company’s Goa Unit located at St. Jose de Areal, Salcete-Goa has been temporarily shut down for maintenance work from today (September 4, 2020),” the company informed the exchanges on Friday.
This is the third time the company’s Goa unit has been closed temporarily since March 2020. It was earlier also shut for maintenance work between June 12, 2020 to July 9, 2020.
The company’s manufacturing operations were affected due to Covid-19 outbreak in March leading to closure of its units. The unit at St. Jose de Areal, Salcete-Goa was closed with effect from March 25, 2020 as a safety measure and for containment of the spread of the Novel Corona Virus (Covid-19). It later resumed operations from April 19, 2020.
Goa Carbon Ltd traded at Rs222.50 up by Rs1.3 or 0.59% from its previous closing of Rs221.20 on the BSE.
